Our First Public Event

We set up a table at the Lander Valley Farmer's Market at the Lander City Park in Lander, WY on Saturday, June 2nd to support the Opening Day of their Summer Market and to provide a community outreach educational opportunity for members of our home community.

We passed out 42 packets of information to parents and grandparents of elementary school-aged children on how to keep food safe when helping in the kitchen. Main topics of the packets are on handwashing before handling food and on keeping anything food touches clean.

We are tentatively planning to participate in another Lander Valley's Farmer's Market in July with information to help children to learn how to read food labels. Then again in August with information that will teach children to choose healthy and nutritious snacks. We will have copies of the prior handouts at each event for those who would like copies.
